Montana Districting and Apportionment Commission Public Hearing
The Montana Districting and Apportionment Commission will hold a public hearing on October 19 to hear public input on 9 proposed maps for the state’s two congressional districts.
The commission meets again in a work session on October 21 to select a map for an October 30 public hearing.
The map proposals and other materials for the October 19 public hearing and October 21 work session are available at the commission’s website, mtredistricting.gov
October 19 Public Hearing Information: The October 19 public hearing starts at 10 a.m. in Room 102 of the State Capitol and on Zoom. More information on how the public can participate in the meeting and provide comments is available at the commission’s website.
October 21 Work Session Information: The October 21 work session starts at 10 a.m. in Room 102 of the State Capitol. The commission will not be taking additional verbal comments during this work session. The public may join the commissioners at the Capitol, watch the meeting online, and provide written comments using the process outlined below.

Please note: The commission will take in-person and remote public testimony on the work session topics during an October 19 public hearing. The commission will not be taking additional verbal comments during this October 21 work session. However, written comments are always accepted. The next opportunity for the public to provide in-person and remote testimony will be on October 30 when the commission takes comments on a proposed congressional district map.

Public Comments
- Public comments received by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20 will be provided to the commissioners prior to the work session. Comments received after that time or during the work session will be provided to the commissioners prior to their next meeting.
