Precinct Committee Representatives

The central committee membership consists of a committeeman and committeewoman from each of the voter precincts within Yellowstone County. Each term is up to 2 years, resetting at the county convention in odd years.

Not sure which precinct you live in? You can use the voter portal from the Montana Secretary of State office to look up your current precinct.

What is a precinct?

In Montana, a precinct is an electoral district of up to 2500 voters. Each precinct may have a precinct committeeman and a committeewoman from each political party.

Each state senate district has two house districts. Each house district has generally 3 to 4 precincts.

Vacancies

If your precinct does not have an opening, you can still join the central committee as a volunteer.

If you’re interested in filling a vacancy, please send us an email with your voter registration address so we can verify your eligibility. Then, we’ll send you some information about joining the central committee, and we’ll let you know how to join our next meeting. People are appointed to open seats during Central Committee monthly meetings.
