Social Media Content Creator

The Yellowstone County Democratic Central Committee (YCDCC) is looking to hire a Social Media Content Creator with their pulse on latest social media trends to help engage with our base online and build up the brand of our local Democratic party. The ultimate goal of this position’s work is to help elect Democrats all across the county, engage Democrats in conversation and build community with each other, and grow a long term volunteer base. The Social Media Content Creator will report to the YCDCC Communications Chair.

Roles/Duties:

Create engaging social media posts that are timely and relevant, connecting current events with the Democratic platform, local organizing efforts, and local representatives/candidates.
Create educational content that teaches our base about the Democratic platform and values, with the express goal of shifting attitudes toward the Democratic brand (especially locally).
With support from the Communications Chair and the Communications committee, manage a social media calendar and create graphics and content according to the calendar.
With support from the Communications Chair, ensure all content & materials created are aligned to our existing brand and voice. Work collaboratively to adjust brand and voice as needed.
Attend the monthly communications meeting (second Wednesday of every month at 7 pm). Share updates on work-in-progress and help the committee develop ideas for upcoming content.

Job Requirements:

Experience managing personal or professional social media accounts with a focus on maintaining a specific visual brand & voice.
Experience with Canva
Experience creating video content is ideal (not required)
Excellent written and visual communication skills
Detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast paced environment; Able to produce graphics and content quickly when necessary in order to post timely content.
Positive attitude
A commitment and passion to the cause of electing Democrats in partisan and nonpartisan positions
Ability to work flexible hours, three (3) hours per week. Includes certain evenings.

Compensation:

Contractor stipend: $20/hour for three hours per week

Contract is for 8 months (begins April 2, 2026 and ends January 2, 2027), with an option to extend.
