Building People Power: A Community Organizing Workshop with Hardy Merriman
Join us for an interactive two-hour workshop with Hardy Merriman, one of the world’s leading experts on civil resistance and nonviolent organizing.

Drawing on decades of research and real-world case studies, Hardy will walk participants through a practical framework for how everyday people can push back against authoritarianism — and make it backfire. You’ll learn how authoritarian tactics work, why they sometimes fail, and what organized communities can do to impose real costs and create real change.
The session is hands-on and interactive. Participants will break into small groups based on their issue areas of interest to discuss what’s happening locally and how to apply the framework to the work you’re already doing in your community.
Whether you’re a candidate, a union member, a volunteer, or a neighbor who’s ready to do something — this workshop is for you.
This event is free and open to all. On-site childcare is also provided so nothing stands between you and showing up.
Limited seating available – please RSVP. Your information is kept strictly private and will only be used to communicate about this event.
